From discover to deliver the app in 10 weeks.
How I led the team through the process of research and development project of the first mobile application of the Chamber of Commercialization of Electric Energy.
First explorations
The idea of the mobile app was born out of research by the UX team on user behavior and statistics on the use of the web portal from mobile devices. We created a first and visceral version of the application using the Ionic Framework. The PoC version was tested with market agents to understand the value proposition. At the end of the process, we present it to the board company.
Discovery and Challenge
We would design the first mobile interaction for customers and agents in the electricity sector. Starting a highly satisfactory version of the app in 10 weeks.
Our challenge was to find the main resources for the market, planning, and execution.
Planning and Execution
After the board company decision (to make the app), our first step was to run a lean process (we used to work on Double Diamond) planning and execution of our client-facing discovery process.
Execution of the Design Thinking workshop, focus group, and insight consolidation. As a facilitator, beyond execution, I conducted our script and consolidate the results to the next phases.
Preparation
To make a good approach, we did some data analysis based on previous research, the behavior of Google Analytics using mobile devices on our web portal. We focus on the hypotheses before working together with the invited users. These hypotheses served as a guide for our workshop.
Co-Design
The entire journey was planned and conducted by the UX team at CCEE, along with two other designers, including myself. We applied the stages of Design Thinking to guide our discoveries throughout the process. Once the product was implemented, we continued to use Design Thinking workshops as the primary approach for refining our product backlog.

Design workshop facilitation
We did 3 days of workshops, with 60 users (agents, clients, and participants in the energy market) to help us to define the way.
Product Concept
As a result of our work with the user group, we sought to differentiate our product based on their day-to-day operational priorities. At the same time, the design needed to represent the strength of the CCEE brand in the Brazilian energy market.
